24 and 25 August were special days. The Kinetic Academy has welcomed thirty participants for its first edition in Belgium. A tailor-made training for employees from media owners, media agencies or young communication managers who wants to enhance their knowledge.
Although OOH was the main theme, there was a variety of topics. Experts came to present their respective activity field to the participants.
Day 1; Yessica Borny (Trading Director at MEC) has presented AVM. Then the Partner Digital at Mindshare Jean-Michel Depasse browsed digital, mobile, social and online topics. The perfect OOH plan was presented by Thomas De Greef (Managing Director at Kinetic). Arno Buskop (Head of Data, Tools & Analytics at Kinetic) expressed support for this presentation with an analytics view. Head of Innovation at Kinetic, Thomas Thiadens introduced innovation in (D)OOH to the participants. At last, Aaron Spijkers (Data, Analytics and Programmatic Executive at Kinetic) explored programmatic applied to DOOH.
After hearing about different types of media, the participants focused on media strategy presented by Suzanne Stroobants (Client Lead at Mindshare) on day 2. Bart Massa, Business Consultant at Validators talked about the importance of the creative aspect for an OOH campaign. In order to be consistent with the concept, Dave Nelissen led a workshop to involve and to test the attendees.
They were put in real-life situation and received a real briefing from the Head of Marketing at Deliveroo Belgium-Netherlands, Charles Van den Bogaert. In groups of 4, participants pitched their idea in front of the jury. Afterwards the jury chose one team as the winner of the workshop.
Each participant received an award, a proof of their involvement during the whole session. After effort comes comfort, the event was ending with a drink. An opportunity to get the participants feedbacks and their feelings about this first Kinetic Academy.
